Meet Jess From @seekingjessx who shares with us her healthy vegan life

Today as a part of our healthy community meet the lovely Jessica a health, fitness, vegan and sustainable advocate blogger,  who shares with us how easy is to be a healthy vegan, taking care of herself while making life-style choices that demonstrate her compassion and respect for all living beings. 


She also shares her recipes that let me tell you look amazing! and of course are full of nutritious ingredients! 

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself - who you are and what you do?

 My name is Jessica (Seeking Jess) and I love to blog and vlog about my vegan health journey and lifestyle with the purpose to inspire others and change the world in my own way. 

2.What was the 'uh ha' moment that inspired you to be vegan?

 I was always really into health and fitness. Therefore, I always tried to eat as healthy as possible and I started doing more research about the benefits of a plant based diet and how unhealthy animal products are. Later on I started watching documentaries about animal farming and the cruelty behind it. It was like an awakening and I knew that this was it. I needed to become vegan. And since then I know it was the best decision I have ever made.  

3. Do you take any supplements guided by a health practitioner? 

 I do not take any supplements that a health practicioner has recommended to me. I did my own research and therefore the only thing I take is Vitamin B12. Fun Fact: I just got my blood tested after being vegan for 8 months, and I am the healhtiest I have ever been. 

4. What is your indulgence of choice? 

 Ohh, tough one. I love everything with chocolate and nuts. I used to loooove Nutella, so now I am addicted to natural organic almond or hazelnut butter. I can eat a whole jar at once!

5. Can you explain us if you have a low budget can you be a healthy vegan ?

Yes! Actually since I am vegan I am saving so much money! Fruit, Veg, Legumes, Beans.. all of the plant based food is super cheap! Just go to the supermarket and compare it with a steak and you will see! :) Of course substitution food like tofu, fake burgers, etc. might be slightly more expensive, but you don't need to consume those since there are so many other cheaper and healthier alternatives. 

6. Any last words of advice or tips for those starting out on their health journey being vegan? 

 Do your research! And never stop learning. Also make sure to bulk up on staples like rice, beans, lentils at home so you always have something to eat. Most new vegans make the mistake that they do not do enough research and end up not eating enough which makes them give up on a vegan diet. But I promise you, it's easier than you might initially think. And so much better for you, the environment and the animals.
